DIFFERENT KINDS OF ENGINEERS AND WHAT THEY DO

Different Kinds of Engineers

Engineering is a broad term that covers a wide range of applications and industries based on a combination of mathematics, science and technology, thus producing creative solutions to real world problems. This Article Contain About Different Kinds of Engineers ,What Engineers Do & their Rolls .As a result there are many different types of engineering degrees available. It is a career which varies significantly. The differentiation between each branch of engineering proves that the term “engineer” means different things in altogether different contexts.

Different Kinds of Engineers

Different Kinds of Engineers

In the past, engineering was divided into four major branches: Mechanical, Chemical, Civil and Electrical, with sub branches of each discipline. Currently, the number of engineering degrees available has increased considerably.

There are now seven major branches of engineering: Computer, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics and communication, and Aeronautical, and literally hundreds of different subcategories of engineering under each branch. People get confused about the different kind of engineers.

What Engineers Do

Wide range of disciplines of engineering contributes to solving multivariate problems. All the engineers study almost similar kind of subjects like mathematics and science. But there are some differences in specializations, depending on the major subjects.

Computer Engineers learn to develop software programs and operating a system software, like Windows or Linux, to writing individual computer programs, such as Microsoft Office and the hardware that makes the computers run, like test microchips, circuits, processors, conductors and other components used in computer devices or systems (e.g. supercomputers, smartphones, laptops, servers, motherboards, audio graphics cards and drives).

Mechanical Engineer vs Software Engineer

Nowadays they work on IoT and specialized areas like Artificial intelligence and data science which is contributing immensely to the internet world.

Mechanical engineers, focus on physics, kinematics, thermodynamics. They design, develop, build, and test mechanical and thermal sensors and devices.

Mechanical engineers design power-producing machines, such as electric generators, internal combustion engines, and steam and gas turbines, as well as power-using machines, such as refrigeration, air-conditioning systems, elevators and escalators inside buildings.

They also work upon space guided missiles, rockets and determine their aerodynamics, structural integrity of the materials used, thrust to weigh ratios, etc.

Civil engineering is one of the oldest and most recognizable engineering professions. It’s also one of the oldest types of the engineering in the world. Civil Engineers (CEs) are trained to work out the design, construction, and maintenance of the natural and physically erected terrain.

They conceive, design, make, supervise, operate, construct and maintain structure systems and systems in the public and private sector, including roads, structures, airfields, coverts, heads, islands, and systems for water force and sewage treatment.

For those having an interest in physics and microbiology, chemical engineering is best suited for them. The Chemical engineers use a nice combination of engineering and science to help aid in the processing of food, produce industrial chemicals, and also make pharmaceuticals.

Kinds of Engineers

Chemical engineers are highly in demand they are required in wide variety of industries that rely on the things these engineers can make. They apply the principles of chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics to solve various problems.

Biomedical engineers similarly use biology and engineer to create things like x-rays, MRI machines, etc.

Electrical engineers, for example, take engineering and focus more on electricity and magnetism, and signals. These engineers in general work on the electrical systems which we see around us. It could be a small thing like a circuit board in consumer electronics, or it could also be a big thing like engineering a logical blueprint to wire a 50-story office or apartment.

Mechanical Engineering Top 10 Facts

A very integral branch, Electrical engineering is concentrated around electric power technology. They work on electrical elements, and devices. Similar systems may include veritably small pieces similar as microchips or may involve very big power generators.

Electrical engineers are credited with feats like constructing the transistor, radio, TV, motor, and numerous other. These iconic gadgets would not be made available without electrical engineers.

Electronics and Communications Engineers research, design, develop, and test electronic equipment used in various systems. Electronics and Communications engineers also conceptualize and oversee the manufacturing of communications and broadcast systems.

There are other kind of engineers also, like Aerospace engineer, Agriculture engineer, Automotive engineer, Biomedical engineer, Data engineer, Drafting and design engineer, Environmental engineer, Geological engineer, Marine engineer, Petroleum engineer, and many other allied branches.

Today, engineers design big machinery, they build skyscrapers, and oversee all the public works. They also address the society’s needs and problems on every other levels as well. On a small molecular level, they show their expertise on drug delivery systems which work inside cells.

Is Civil Engineering Good for Future

On a macro level, they also look at the flow of particles of pollutants through the soil to clean up oil spills, to look after abandoned industrial sites and other similar bio-hazards. At a more advanced galactic level, they design and builds pace telescopes, spacecraft and rockets for exploration of the universe.

At an atomic level, they focus on electrons in atoms. Ensuring clean drinking water, food storage, and protection and maintenance of our environment is also under the umbrella of engineering.

Thus, on a day-to-day basis, engineers are surely responsible for thinking, designing and producingvarious equipments and then testing and supervising the final product of such items.

Engineers basically design, so anything that can be designed definitely has an engineering application. They also test these designs to verify their applications. Most of the fields have an engineering and scientific aspect associated with them. The scientist collectsthe data and formulate the rules within which the engineers work.

As we have seen, engineering contains a huge number of opportunities and specialties and with each specialty the nature of the work, the employment trends, and possible career advancement opportunities changes.
